Lower Part Cost
Production at the Press of a Button
The Formlabs Fuse X1 SLS Ecosystem bridges the production gap, delivering industrial-grade quality without the excessive footprint, specialized operators, or complex facility retrofits.
Low Part Cost
Fuse X1 delivers up to 50% lower part cost than legacy powder bed fusion systems in less than half the floorspace. Fuse X1 is cost-competitive with injection molding for tens of thousands of parts.Build Big
Produce full-scale production-quality parts in a massive build volume or run production builds at over 30% packing density to manufacture thousands of end-use parts in days, not weeks.High Productivity
With 30%+ packing density and a 61.5L build volume, the Fuse X1 fits more parts in a single build than competing industrial SLS and MJF systems, adding up to thousands more parts per week.Plug-and-Play Setup
Fuse X1 doesn’t require facility retrofits, and installs and prints on day one. An intuitive touchscreen guides you, while the build unit enables 5-minute changeovers.Initialise Your Fuse X1 Assessment

The Process
The Formlabs Fuse X1 SLS Ecosystem bridges the production gap, delivering industrial-grade quality without the excessive footprint, specialized operators, or complex facility retrofits.
1Prepare
Auto-pack, optimize, and organize in PreForm.
Orient, hollow, or label models, estimate print times, and automatically pack parts for optimized density, reducing print time and limiting waste. Import STL, OBJ, 3MF, or models directly from a wide range of CAD applications.2Print
Print large parts in hours, not days
Most large builds complete under 24 hours, with same-day large parts in 5 hours. Print Intelligence detects and masks anomalies in real time to protect yield.3Swap
5-minute print changeovers with the Fuse X1 Build Unit
Roll one build unit out, roll the next one in, with blind-mate power and data connectors. Insulation allows natural cooling inside the unit, so the printer can start the next job immediately.4Unpack
Efficient powder recovery with Fuse Sift X1
Integrated compressed air, sealed glovebox, and parts hatch keep breakout clean and fast. Capacity for 3 to 5 full builds of used powder, with automatic powder transport to the Mix Kit.5Finish
Clean and Polish with Fuse Blast
New 400 mm Fuse Blast Large Tumbler Basket fits 2-3× Fuse 1+ build volumes and 50% more parts per cycle. Optional Polishing System upgrade delivers smooth, semi-gloss, dye-ready surfaces.
Decoupling the Fuse X1: Hardware Architectural Breakthroughs
When analyzing the Fuse X1, the most significant departure from legacy powder bed fusion architectures isn’t just scale; it’s thermal management. Traditional large-format printing frequently encounters structural warping due to uneven chamber cooling. The Fuse X1 mitigates this through an advanced 13-zone Adaptive Thermal Control matrix, processing 700 times more data points per second than benchtop systems to ensure completely isotropic mechanical properties across a massive 61.5L build volume.

Frequently Asked Questions
The largest part you can print on Fuse X1 is 330 x 330 x 565 mm. Formlabs have tested this build volume by printing a solid block of Nylon which fills the entire build volume.
To run full height builds continuously two Build Units are required. One is included with the printer. For partial builds, three or more Build Units are required to ensure a Build Unit is always cooled, unpacked and ready for printing.
Nylon 12 and Nylon 11 are available before the Fuse X1 ships in Australia. Nylon 12 GF and TPU are planned for 2027. From there, Formlabs will continue growing their portfolio as they did with the Fuse 1+.
Yes, you can switch materials on the Formlabs Fuse X1. However, doing so requires thorough cleaning of the printer, Fuse Sift X1, and Build Units to prevent cross-contamination.
There is no upgrade program for the Fuse 1 series to the Fuse X1. Fuse X1 is not a new version of Fuse 1+ 30W, it is a separate product category.
